+ Register for Ash Wednesday Masses by 3 p.m. today either online or by phone. Mass times are 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
+ Lent begins tomorrow, Ash Wednesday. Here are two practices the faithful follow during this time: Abstaining from meat—Catholics ages 14 and older are required to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday (February 17th) and Good Friday (April 1st) as well as on all Fridays during Lent. Fasting—Catholics between the ages of 18 and 59 are required to fast (eat only one full meal; two smaller meals may be taken but may not be equal to the one full meal) on Ash Wednesday (February 17th) and Good Friday (April 1st).
