Liturgical ministry is an excellent opportunity to fulfill your baptismal call of service to one another. Our liturgies should utilize the talents and gifts that God has given this community to the fullest extent. Whether participation is through “behind the scenes” preparation and planning or through a public role of service within the Mass, parishioner contributions help our liturgies to be truly life-giving celebrations. Please prayerfully consider joining one of these ministries.
Altar Servers
Altar Servers offer service to God and the community by assisting the priest during Mass. The ministry is open to all adults and youth of the parish who have made their First Communion and whose parents believe they are ready and responsible enough to be trained. Training in the specifics of the ministry is provided throughout the year. Servers are assigned on a rotating schedule.

Eucharistic Ministers
This liturgical ministry is responsible for distributing the Body and Blood of Christ at the weekend Masses and other times Mass is celebrated. Training in the specifics of the ministry is provided throughout the year. Eucharistic Ministers are assigned on a rotating schedule.
Gift Bearers
Individuals, families or parish groups are invited to carry the gifts to the altar during the Offertory to celebrate a memorial, birthday, anniversary, etc. Being a part of the liturgy in thanksgiving represents all of God’s blessings to us. Contact a lead usher prior to Mass.
Lectors
Lectors proclaim the Word of the Lord during the Liturgy. A lector should have a passion for Scripture, an ability to interpret and understand Scripture, and sufficient public speaking skills to proclaim the Word to the assembly. Training in the specifics of the ministry is provided throughout the year. Lectors are assigned on a rotating schedule.
Sacristan
A Sacristan’s work is “behind the scenes.” Regular duties involve setting up the vessels and linens needed for Mass and ensuring that all Eucharistic vessels are emptied and cleaned in proper order. This ministry is open to adults and post Confirmation teens. Training is provided.

Ushers & Greeters
As ministers of hospitality, ushers and greeters welcome folks and help them to feel comfortable in the worshiping environment. They open doors, greet, hand out bulletins, assist with collections, and communion traffic flow. Assistance is given to folks as needed or during emergencies. Adults and high school students are welcome to serve. Training is provided on an as-needed basis.
Altar Society
These ministers work behind the scenes, preparing the worship spaces for the celebration of the sacraments each week by polishing, light cleaning, and watering plants. They are usually able to work one day that fits their schedule. Training is scheduled on an individual basis.
Arts & Environment
This team works behind the scenes to transform our worship space for the liturgical seasons. We need artists, seamstresses, decorators, and other interested people to plan and to work on various projects.
Liturgy Committee
The Liturgy Committee is a group of representatives from each liturgical ministry area that meets to plan for the weekend and special liturgies seasonally.
Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration
Many parishioners from our parish participate in Perpetual Adoration, which is held in the chapel of St. Patrick’s Church on Leroy Street in Binghamton. Adorers spend a Holy Hour each week in the presence of the Lord. This is a beautiful opportunity to foster a deep, personal relationship with the Lord; to experience the graces and peace only the Lord can provide.
So, could you not watch one hour with me?” Matthew 26:40
