+ Join Bishop Lucia in a Lourdes Virtual Pilgrimage on the World Day of the Sick: Today we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes as well as the 29th World Day of the Sick. This could be the most significant World Day of the Sick amidst the worldwide pandemic. Let’s join together to pray for those suffering from illness and those that care for them.
St. John Paul II instituted the World Day of the Sick as a day to honor the sick and suffering throughout the world. From our sickbed, wheelchair, hospital, home or wherever we are, each one of us is invited to offer our suffering in a special time of prayer and sharing on this day. Holy Mother Church calls us to honor and elevate the sick and suffering on this day, as they are honored every day at Lourdes. Pope Francis has granted a plenary indulgence to be received by all who watch.
Most Reverend Douglas J. Lucia, Bishop of the Diocese of Syracuse and Monsignor Xavier d’Arodes, Co-Rector of the Sanctuary at Lourdes invite you to experience Lourdes. Marlene Watkins will be our pilgrimage guide. Father Brian Olkowski will offer Eucharistic Exposition with Benediction and lead us in a decade of the Rosary from historic St. Mary’s Church in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Come! Pray with us and experience Lourdes! Journey with us to “the Grotto of your heart!”
