Wear Red for Pentecost

May 20, 2021

+ This weekend we celebrate Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles in tongues of fire giving them the gift to speak and be heard in any language. This feast commemorates the birth of the early church. The celebrant wears red at Mass this day to signify the presence of the Holy Spirit. Fr. Jim is inviting all to wear red to Mass this weekend to signify that we are a Spirit-filled people.

+ May 16-25 is Laudato Sí Week. The Diocese of Syracuse and Diocese of Ogdensburg will host a three-night virtual summit on the topic of climate change, LET US DREAM: The Path to a Better Future. The event runs from May 25-27, from 7-9 p.m. each day. To register, visit https://www.rcdony.org/dream. For more information: Theresa May at tmay@syrdio.org or Marika Donders at mdonders@rcdony.org.
