As long as earth lasts…

Sunday was a beautiful autumn day.  As it started to pass into night, the sun was setting. And in another part of the sky, the moon was rising.  I think Mercury was visible too.

My friend set up the table outside.  My brother prepared the food.  I lit a fire in the pit. Darkness came over us. Just enough flames to see each other.  Some warmth too. A peaceful finale to many busy hours.

The scripture above and at the end of this blog come from Genesis.  It’s just after Noah’s sacrifice of burnt offerings on an altar before the Lord. With it, God promises never again to strike down every living thing.

Have you taken time to look for blessings in the changing of the seasons?

…sowing and reaping, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night shall cease no more.”                  Genesis 8:22 (The Jerusalem Bible)

Peace and God Bless,
