+ Women’s Club Ministry Scholarship: The STVBS Women’s Club Ministry is awarding one $1,000 scholarship to a female high  school student graduating in 2020. The applicant must be a registered member of St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church and have maintained at least a B average. Applications are available at the Information Desk in the church vestibule or by sending an email to: kwiegs@stny.rr.com with the words “scholarship application” in the subject line.You will receive an application via email. Send a PDF of the completed application to suekfreed@gmail.com OR print it out and mail it to STVBS Women’s Club Ministry, 1143 Reynolds Rd., Johnson City, NY 13790. The new deadline for submitting applications is Tuesday, June 30.

+ HAPPY EARTH DAY! Today would be a perfect day to watch the first episode of His Way @ Home: Caring for God's Creation. Remember to post your photos from this week's challenge on our Facebook page with the hashtag #HisWayAtHome.

+ Collection envelopes may be dropped off to the parish office mailbox located just outside the office door entrance. Please do not leave envelopes in the large mailbox at the end of the driveway

+ REMINDER: Our Loaves & Fishes food pantry is in need of several nonperishable food items in order to continue to serve the community. If you are shopping or ordering groceries, consider donating one or more of the following items and dropping them off on the shelves in the parish social hall: instant oatmeal, peanut butter and jelly (no glass containers, please), canned tuna, canned chicken, canned pasta (SpaghettiOs, BeefaRoni, ravioli, etc.), boxed pasta, and canned spaghetti sauce (no glass containers).Your  continued  support  and  prayers  are  greatly appreciated!

His Way @ Home - Episode 1

Caring for God's Creation: From the Story of God's Creation in the Book of Genesis to how we care for God's creation in our daily lives, this video brings fun faith filled stories and questions into your home.

WEEKLY CHALLENGE: Go for a walk with a garbage bag and clean up the Earth, anything that doesn’t belong there, dispose of it! To prove it, post a picture of your walkers and/or of the things you collected onto our Facebook page St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament and #HisWayatHome.

DINNER DIALOG: Use these follow up questions for discussion following the video or during dinner!

  1. What would your life look like without animals? How about without water?
  2. Why do you think God waited until the sixth day to create humans?
  3. The Book of Genesis begins with, “In the beginning…”if it were describing your life, what would the story look like?
  4. What does faith and taking care of the Earth have to do with one another?
  5. How does your community take care of the Earth?
  6. What are THREE small ways to help God’s creation that you can change daily?
  7. What things in your life are you grateful for and how do you show that gratitude?
