+ Bishop Douglas J. Lucia will lead a May Crowning and Reconsecration of our Diocese and the Nation to our Blessed Mother (including a recitation of The Rosary). The livestreaming will be at 1 p.m. here. (Please note the Reconsecration of the Nation to our Lady led by Archbishop Gomez will air live at 3 p.m. here.)

+ A seminarian-led live Zoom Holy Hour for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life for the Diocese of Syracuse will take place at 3 p.m. on Facebook. Please join our diocesan seminarians as they lead us in prayer and reflection as we all humbly come before God on this year’s World Day of Prayer for Vocations asking God to send out more laborers into his harvest. Jeremy Bobak will be leading us in worship in between each reflection. This will truly be a dynamic Holy Hour that you don’t want to miss. Families are welcome! Please join the Office of Vocation Promotion for this unique event live on Facebook.

May ~ The Month of The Rosary

the rosary app page
Our new page on our WeConnect Parish App is The Rosary.

Pope Francis wrote recently, “The month of May is approaching, a time when the People of God express with particular intensity their love and devotion for the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is traditional in this month to pray the Rosary at home within the family. The restrictions of the pandemic have made us come to appreciate all the more this ‘family’ aspect, also from a spiritual point of view.

For this reason, I want to encourage everyone to rediscover the beauty of praying the Rosary at home in the month of May. This can be done either as a group or individually; you can decide according to your own situations, making the most of both opportunities. The key to doing this is always simplicity, and it is easy also on the internet to find good models of prayers to follow.”

With this in mind, we have created a page called The Rosary on our Parish App. On this one page you will find the order of praying the Rosary, the prayers used, the Mysteries and the days of the week they are said, and finally a prayer Pope Francis created especially for the pandemic time.

You can access The Rosary page by scrolling down the main page when you open the app or by clicking on MORE in the bottom right corner, and then scrolling to The Rosary listing.

Don't have our Parish App yet? To install the free app, Apple users can text parishapp1 to 555888 or download it from the iTunes Store. Android users can text parishapp2 to 555888 or download it from the Google Play Store.

Consider adding this as a family practice for the month of May.
